Our Neighborhood

Bay Crest Park is made up of three neighborhoods. Old Bay Crest is to the west, accessible from Memorial Highway via Bay Crest Drive and Stillbrook Avenue; Middle Bay Crest, accessible via Millwood Drive; and New Bay Crest to the east, accessible via Lopez Drive and Bay Pointe Drive.

Public schools for Bay Crest Park children are Bay Crest Elementary, Webb Middle School, and Alonso High School. There are several private schools nearby, including Berkeley Prep (grades K-12), Incarnation Catholic (grades K-8), a Montessori school and West Gate Baptist (grades K-12). A number of day care centers and preschools are also nearby.

A unique feature of our neighborhood is the Bay Crest Park-owned boat ramp and launch facility, located at Bay Crest Drive and Gilbert Avenue. The ramp is for exclusive use of Bay Crest residents, who register for a permit and decal with the Bay Crest Special Dependent Taxing District. The Tax District gained ownership and total responsibility for operations from Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation in 2010, and now maintains the facility for the use and enjoyment of bona fide residents.

County parks and playgrounds in our area are located on Jackson Springs Road, Kelly Road and Webb Road. Upper Tampa Bay Park is about five miles west, exit south off Hillsborough Avenue. Lowry Park Zoo, an award-winning family facility, is operated by the City of Tampa at the intersection of Sligh Avenue and North Boulevard.

Politically, we are located in U. S. Congressional District 11, Florida State Senate District 20, State House District 57, County Commission District I and School Board District 1. Our voting precinct is 401. The polling place normally used is Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church on Memorial Highway. The early voting location is usually the Town 'N Country Regional Library.
